Another Cardinal joins in scandal fun…

Posted on Updated on

During a “special ecumenical worship service” in Sudbury, MA Cardinal Sean O’Malley asked the “Rev.” Anne Robertson of Plymouth to administer a baptism reaffirmation ritual to him. (George Martell/Pilot New Media)

“It was completely unexpected,” the “Rev.” Robertson said Tuesday, in her first media interview about the encounter. “I’m still blown away by it.”

“What moved me was not so much that I was anointing him,” she said. “It was him being willing to accept that from my hand – to ask me, as a woman in ministry, to do that.”

Maybe he’ll return the favor, as it were, and wash her feet on Maundy Thursday?

Not since Admiral O’Connor gave his blessing for a Catholic boy converting to Judaism [you heard that right] has a Prince of the Church done something this, well,  dumb. Anticipate more apologies, ‘splaining and helpertons trotting out the excuse portfolio & attacking the messengers…all that was missing was a beach ball.

Too bad O’Malley, whose diocese is racked with the lingering lawsuits and post-effects of the sodomite and pederast sex abuse scandal initated under his predecessor, Cardinal Law. That and abortoholic politicians posing as “catholics” doing whatever they like on his watch.

Fortunately, Catholics who know their faith, know a heretical scandal when they see, hear and taste it, blatant manifestly public repudiation of the sanctity of Holy Orders of the Catholic Church. Expect more of a mess as we endure the Francis Effect.

Except from the pelagian, legalistic, moralistic, rosary bead counting faithful.

[…] course, these same neo-cons have no problem with pagan markings on new cardinals by Hindus nor of cardinals getting re-baptized by <gasp> female protestant ministers. Anything smelling of Tradition that is faithful to the […]

I chastised you previously for being overly critical of more liberal movements in the Church, but I have to admit this is a joke! Why?? What purpose does Cardinal O’Malley’s actions serve other than to cause confusion? True ecumenism is NOT confusing. This is ONLY confusing, meaningless and NOT truly ecumenical at all!

It borders on the heretical and does what you say, only causes confusion, especially among the faithful who don’t know their Catholic faith well or are scandalized. The natural reaction from someone with sensus fidei is to recoil. Or as one national Catholic writer told me, “ugh”. ‘Nuff said.
