So what do all these Catholics have in common?

Posted on Updated on

Question: What do Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos, Father Z, Tim Staples, Pope Emeritus Benedict, and the Diocese of Richmond have in common?Answer: Though not supporters of the SSPX they are all on record saying the Society of St. Pius X is not in schism.
For the neo-con Catholics and other liberals, this will come as one big shocking disappointment. The SSPX, Msgr Lefebvre and all those Trad Catholics that they love to be in schism with….

So what’s with Father Nicholson?

From the Remnant:

“One such matter regards Fr. Nicholson’s multiple recent attacks on the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX). As the saying goes, Fr. Nicholson is entitled to his own opinions about the Society, but he is not entitled to his own facts. The Remnant has no affiliation with the SSPX.” Read more at the hyperlink above.

One distressful little fact about definitions that neo-con Catholics and other liberal conciliar Catholics often forget is that SECOND part of the Church’s definition of schism, that part where it applies to the faithful, to LAYPEOPLE who obstinately refuse communion with OTHER Catholics subject to the Holy Father.

Here it  is again, so they can read and weep when they finger wag Trads over SSPX and His Grace Lefebvre, the man who it can be said single handedly helped preserve the Tridentine Rite Latin Mass, the Mass of All Times, that unbreachable, insurmountable barrier to the heresies that seem to fancy their itchy ears, to wit:

schism is the refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him.[Code of Canon Law c.751].

See the part in bold italics (mine)? Yeah, that’s the part these types often conveniently forget when they go into full, uncharitable attack mode on line. Such as the case of Voris recently against Mihcalee Matt, Louie Verrecchio and other Trads. You can see the details here in Louie V’s spot-on charitable response to Voris, who often gets things right, but is way wrong here.

ESH awaits his public apology for the calumny.

Pope Emeritus Benedict Hmmm–did not know there was a Pope Emeritus! Must have been during the Roman Empire.

Yeah, that’s the title he’s taken. It only happens every 600 yrs or so, hence the etiquette is odd for everyone.
      Even the schismatic neo-cons.
