Many have witnessed recently the silencing of the lambs at the Franciscans of the Immaculata in Italy, a totally Traditional and fruitful order of priests and other clerics, nuns, etc., quite successful with both vocations as well as good works and manifest spiritual life not seen in many/most Novus Ordo orders.
Now comes word that in Costa Rica, the local ordinary is doing everything he can to make sure the Tridentine Rite liturgy, an unfettered right re-confirmed under summorum Pontificum, the motu proprio of then-Pope benedict XVI in 2007, does not see the light of day. The Latin Mass has to be said behind closed doors, in secret, much like after the post-Vatican II revolution and in the times of Henry VIII and atheistic communism in Europe and Asia in the last century.
And one wonders why Archbishop Lefebvre consecrated 4 bishops in 1988 due to the emergency within the Church and scenarios like this? It’s a no brainer, folks.
Expect more of this persecution of the faithful remnant under the Francis Effect, as the bishops and others take their cue from the man at the top. But who am I to judge?
We make Saint Athanasius’s words our hope:
