Today, news outlets are reporting that late-term abortionist Martin Haskell will not appeal to the First District Court of Appeals (Cincinnati) in an attempt to contest Judge Jerry Metz’ decision to uphold the OH Department of Health order that his so-called “Women’s Med Center” abortion facility be closed for operating outside Ohio health and safety laws.
“Women and children are now going to be protected from the knife of Martin Haskell. As I told his wife, Valerie, last week, Mr Haskell needs to find a new line of work. He needs to devote himself to healing not killing,” said Mark Harrington, Executive Director, Created Equal, a Columbus-based pro-life educational group.
Paula Westwood, Executive Director, Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati said, “Concerns still remain, in that Martin Haskell’s Women’s Med Center remains open and could still offer chemical, non-surgical, [mifepristone/Mifeprex chemical] abortions, which are also a proven serious health hazard, contributing to documented deaths.”
Also potentially available may be other forms of chemical abortion e.g. IUDs, Norplant, Implanon, Depo Provera, Plan B, ella and others.
Attorneys for Martin Haskell’s Sharonville abortion facility announced that they will not appeal a ruling issued last week by Judge Jerome Metz upholding the OH Department of Health’s closure order.
Haskell must cease surgical abortions his Sharonville office by Friday, August 22, 2014.
“This is such a huge victory for all who respect life and the rule of law,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, which worked with Greater Cincinnati Right to Life to expose Haskell’s abortion abuses. “Haskell had the attitude that he was above the law and deserved to operate under a different standard as everyone else. Today, the law has prevailed.”
ESH is elated another late term baby killer is having a killing center closed. This saves many lives, both babies and moms, some who die from these poorly regulated killing centers.
