CVS to fine employees who won’t share PHI…

Posted on Updated on

In these days of HIPAA fear, or fear of Big Sis and her Homeland dudes coming to visit you at the pharmacy, CVS Caremark has launched an initiative against its employees under the guise of “improving health”.

Seems the boys at Woonsocket, RI want a bunch of private confidential health info from their employees…or else! They’ll be fined $600/yr if they don’t cough it up.

This from a chain that has a poor record of being hostile and anti-pharmacist with its professional employees.

Or firing pharmacists in jeans ON THEIR DAY OFF…

ESH suspects most employees will, unwillingly, give up private info that is supposed to be protected by the loving, omniscient government that will soon be running all of health care. So much for HIPAA protections, massive fines for violations and more protections wrapped somewhere like a 3 day old fish in the 17,000+ pages of regulations for Obamacare.

Maybe the feds can get the Post Office fixed and right first, then think about greater ambitions, but again, we are speaking about the omnipotent secular State.
